Ting & Things

Privacy Policy

Last updated 19 August 2026

Ting & Things helps families across the African and Caribbean diaspora plan meals within a budget. This policy explains exactly what we collect, why, and how you stay in control.

What we collect

What we do not collect

How your data is stored

Ting & Things is local-first. Your profile, plans, saved recipes and shopping list live on your device and the app works fully offline.

If you sign in, the same data is additionally backed up to your private account so you can restore it on a new device. Backups are protected by row-level security: your rows can only be read or written by your own signed-in account.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data to anyone, for any purpose.

How long we keep it

Data stays until you delete it. Deleting your account removes your rows from our servers immediately and wipes everything stored on your device.

Your rights

These rights are given effect under the UK GDPR and EU GDPR. The legal basis for processing your preferences is performance of our contract with you; for optional account backup it is your consent, given when you sign in.

Children

Ting & Things is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes to this policy

If we make a material change, we will update the date at the top of this page and highlight the change in the app before it takes effect.
